Professional registration requirements
All doctors must be registered with the Medical Board of Australia (external site) division of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Eligibility
To be eligible for registration as a medical practitioner in Australia you must have:
- appropriate qualifications registrable with the Medical Board of Australia via AHPRA (external site) and verified by the Australian Medical Council (AMC) (external site) (overseas graduates specific)
- completed the relevant qualification in an approved Australian or New Zealand medical school
or:
- appropriate requirements to meet one of the Australian Medical Council assessment pathways (external site):
- Standard Pathway
- Competent Authority Pathway
- Specialist/Short-Term training.
The terms and conditions of service for all medical practitioners are in accordance with the WA Health System – Medical Practitioners – AMA Industrial Agreement 2016 (external site).

Workplace based assessment
The Workplace based assessment program is an alternative to the AMC Clinical Exam for international medical graduates seeking general registration. Read more about workplace based assessment opportunities at Rockingham General Hospital.
Credentialling
Contracted Medical Practitioners (specialist and general practitioners) must be credentialled to Rockingham General and Murray District Hospitals to offer specialist services.
