About us

Our emergency department (ED) provides 24-hour, 7-day-a-week emergency care for adults and children with an illness or injury that requires urgent attention or is too complex to be managed in a general practitioner's rooms.

The ED has access to a range of medical imaging services on-site as well as short-stay, medical assessment and intensive care units.

Our experienced and caring multidisciplinary team of health professionals is dedicated to the health and wellbeing of our patients.

While all patients in the ED may be experiencing serious illness or injury, those with life-threatening and severe conditions must be treated first.

Our services

The ED has separate areas for child and adult patients, and our facilities and services include:

  • interview room
  • plaster room
  • procedure room
  • ear, nose and throat/ophthalmology room
  • obstetric and gynaecology room
  • paediatrics
  • minor illness/injury treatment area
  • dedicated children’s area for waiting, assessment, treatment and observation
  • comprehensive radiology and pathology services
  • on-site support from a range of in-patient specialties.
