Our Aboriginal Health Liaison Service supports Aboriginal inpatients and their families by providing culturally appropriate care at:
- Rockingham General Hospital
- Murray District Hospital
- Peel Health Campus.
Our services
Coming to hospital can be a worrying time, and you may feel upset or lonely.
Our Aboriginal Health Liaison Officers (AHLOs) understand this and can come and have a yarn with you to offer support.
Services available to you and your family include:
- visiting you while you are in hospital
- helping you understand your hospital journey
- helping your healthcare team better understand your needs
- working closely with social workers to help you manage the practical, personal and emotional impact of your illness, disability or hospitalisation
- assisting you to give feedback about your hospital stay
- referring you for follow-up care after you leave hospital through services including:
- Yorgum - Drug & Alcohol
- Mooditj Koort
- Babbingur Mia South Coastal Health
- Nidjalla Waangan Mia
- Aboriginal Child Health Team
- Aboriginal Mental Health Team
- Wungening Aboriginal Corporation
- Derbal Yerrigan Aboriginal Medical Service.
