Staff celebrate 1,030 years of combined service at long service awards
Rockingham Peel Group (RkPG) recently celebrated staff who have reached 10, 20, 30 and 40-year milestones at the annual Long Service Awards.
A total of 79 staff members celebrated significant individual milestones, as well accumulating a staggering total of 1,030 years of dedicated service between them!
Eve Grant (pictured bottom) was one of the recipients, having dedicated 42 years to working at Rockingham General Hospital.
Eve started at Rockingham Kwinana District Hospital at age 17 and has seen RkPG develop into what it is today.
Starting out as a medical typist in the X-ray department, Eve has since worked in 14 different departments including engineering, where you can find her in her current role as the fleet coordinator.
She credits her career longevity at RkPG to the supportive colleagues she has who have turned into lifelong friends.
“The buildings and uniforms may have changed over time, but the lifelong friendship and sense of community has remained,” says Eve.
“I have worked with the most professional colleagues and never waver when recommending Rockingham General Hospital to my friends and family.
“Both my sons were born here too!”
RkPG Executive Director Kath Smith congratulated all staff on achieving their milestones and thanked them for their years of service.
“It is a privilege to work with so many dedicated staff who go above and beyond for each other and for our patients,” said Kath.
“In this day and age, not many organisations can say they have had so many people working for them for so long, which is a testament to the sense of community we have created at Rockingham Peel Group.”
