Awarded Rockingham chemotherapy unit celebrates ten years
Rockingham General Hospital chemotherapy unit staff and patients will celebrate 10 years of service this September.
The celebration will recognise the high level of service given during more than 25,000 patient visits, often from diagnosis through to discharge or referring to palliative care.
Nursing Unit Manager Maxine Reynolds has worked in the chemotherapy unit since its inception and is excited to celebrate the unit’s achievements.
“Working together as we have over the years has been very rewarding. It’s nice that we can celebrate every aspect of the care provided by all the team to the many patients we’ve seen over the years.”
The unit was the first of its kind to be purpose-built at the hospital and in 2014 it was awarded Venue of the Year 2014 by the Cancer Patients Foundation, Look Good Feel Better Program.
The chemotherapy unit will celebrate its 10 year anniversary on 21 September 2020. Past and current patients and staff are invited to come in for a morning tea and say hello on the day.
