Maternity appointments and specialist obstetrician referrals

Our Obstetric and Neonatal Service provides a comprehensive range of women’s health services to women with low to moderate risk pregnancies.

Public patients can choose to access maternity services at Rockingham General Hospital as a public patient through shared care arrangements with community GPs, GP obstetricians and midwives.

Referring maternity and specialist obstetrician patients

It is preferred that maternity and specialist obstetrician appointment requests are lodged at 14 weeks of pregnancy.

Information regarding which patients require referral to a specialist obstetrician can be found in the Antenatal Shared Care Guidelines: Information for General Practice Obstetricians, General Practitioners and Endorsed Midwives (PDF 1.1MB)
