Sexual Assault Resource Centre (SARC)
The Sexual Assault Resource Centre (SARC) is a free service located in Perth providing crisis services to people who have experienced a recent sexual assault (rape) in the last two weeks; and counselling for sexual assault or sexual abuse experienced recently or in the past.
Services are available for people of all sexualities and gender identities aged 13 years and above.

SARC crisis services
If you’ve been sexually assaulted or raped in the last two weeks, SARC can provide three types of service:
- crisis medical services related to sexual assault
- forensic evidence collection related to sexual assault
- crisis counselling services related to sexual assault.

SARC counselling services
SARC can provide two types of counselling support.
- Crisis telephone support if you are in emotional crisis from an unwanted sexual experience (recently or in your past).
Call (08) 6458 1828 or 1800 199 888 (freecall from landlines) between 8:30am and 11pm, any day of the week.
- Face-to-face counselling for any sexual assault or sexual abuse experienced recently or in the past. (In situations such as a pandemic, when it is not possible to offer face-to-face counselling, an online appointment may be offered)
Call to request an appointment on (08) 6458 1828 between 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Face-to-face counselling is offered from Subiaco and several centres throughout Perth.

Support information
There is a selection of information resources for survivors of sexual violence and their supporters on the SARC website. These include a ‘Care Package’ for Survivors and a ‘Supporter’s Guide’ for family, friends and supporters.

In a medical emergency
- For serious medical injuries or bleeding, get medical help as soon as possible. Go to the nearest hospital emergency department or call triple zero 000 and ask for an ambulance.
- If you are in danger now, call triple zero 000 and ask for police.
