Who can prescribe medicines in Western Australia
Only health professionals registered under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law, authorised by the Medicines and Poisons Regulations, and acting in the lawful practice of their profession, can prescribe medicines.
Authorised practitioners must personally prescribe and are not able to delegate this authority. Exact authority for different prescription medicines varies by professional class.
